The forging

- Scans sheet after sheet into one document, showing front and back side by side, then saves one PDF.
- Adds a searchable text layer to every PDF. OCR runs locally on the Mac, and no AI account is needed.
- Saves drafts as you go, so completed pages survive an app restart, and can skip blank pages (restorable before saving).
- Optional AI filing suggests a name and folder, checks the suggestion a second time, keeps the original and has a real Undo.
How it's made
- A native macOS app with a separate AI filing worker. Both share one document workflow.
- AI filing is off by default. It works with an existing Claude or Codex login, or with an OpenAI or Anthropic API key stored in the macOS Keychain. Only extracted text is sent; page images stay local.
- Scanners and AI providers plug in as adapters, so preview, storage, review and recovery stay shared.
